Janis Joplin

不知道在台灣有多少人知道她，她是一位美國音樂史上相當著名的搖滾女歌手，

可惜年僅27歲的時候，就因吸毒而暴斃過世，那是1970年的事了，我都還沒出生。

但是她狂放卻富含靈魂的聲音，卻延綿了數十年。相信，只要搖滾樂還存在，

她的音樂就會繼續影響更多更多生在這個渾沌時代的空洞靈魂，

尤其是為大多數時候都不知所謂的年輕人，找到呼吸的力量與前進的方向。

p.s 其實本來我還在趕工做文件，忽然聽到她的音樂就覺得實在應該post一篇文章紀念她。

所以，如果我文件趕不完，那也沒辦法啦～～～

以世俗的眼光來看， Janis Joplin 長得極其平庸，微胖、有青春痘、頭髮粗乾，捲曲而容易亂翹，對勢利的唱片宣傳而言，實在不具備大明星的架勢。然而，Joplin 精力充沛、嗓音宏亮、她可以用整個靈魂包住聽眾，放浪形駭而不以為意。她的奇裝異服、她的幽默感、她身體力行的性解放觀念、迷你裙、藍色鏡片的眼鏡、羽毛裝飾、蠟染服飾，都體醒我們六○年代的象徵。 

從歌曲來看，我總覺得 Joplin 每唱一首歌，都令聽眾痛徹心肺，揉合了深深的憤怒與哀傷。她唱出異性戀的苦痛，激情過後跌到谷底的清寥孤寂。憤怒、孤寂之後的麻木不仁，執著於耽溺、對於人類最原始欲望的堅持，神遊於藥品與性愛建構起來的烏托邦，這些，Joplin 信手拈來，完全不需要刻意的修飾。

論及女性與搖滾樂的關係時， Joplin 常被定義為前女性主義時期的歌手。我不知道這個「前」代表的是什麼意思，但是依照字面的解釋，也許就是 Joplin 常被男性歌迷以「女英雄」看待之吧？她唱歌像男人，對性的觀念像花花公子，像許多六○年代主張性解放者一樣，性就是政治，唱歌就是性，大聲地唱出心中的苦痛吧！也唯有如此，我們才得以到達極樂世界。然而，弔詭的是，Joplin 的藍調歌聲中的苦痛來自於她所亟欲模仿的對象，以一名女性歌手的角色，Joplin 有著苦澀的認同危機。

在九○年代中期的現在，不曉得還有多少人記得她？九一年時，大唱片公司把她從未想過要出品的錄音原帶重新整理，加上後來的暢銷曲目，聽每一首歌都有不能負荷般的沈重。緬懷六○年代的人們，當他們看「阿甘正傳」時，不曉得有沒有一種被甩了一巴掌的感覺？
